As a form of sport BMXes were first... Mountainbiking came long afterwards. Andevery single trick you see anybody do on a mountainbike in freeride was done first on a BMX. A lot of mountainbikes nowadays even use BMX parts. I know mine uses BMX platform pedals and a friend of mine has a BMX front hub in his. But either way it's a run what you brung kind of deal. I like mountainbikes he likes BMXes thats all that needs to be said. Also I don't think a "Comfort Cruiser" by todays standards would do very well offroad since they were technically the first modern bicycles after the penny farthing. XD
Feck: Obviously you havn't been in the sport very long and don't know very much about it. If you look back by technicality BMX is the "Real Bike" by your reconing since they were here first and have been the leaders for almost every single advancement in mountainbikes. So please do your research before dissing other kinds of bikes. I'm a mountainbiker myself because I like going down rocky hills at high speeds... BMXers like the smaller lighter frame and better handling. Personal choice dude. About Us
